focal point.

For years now, AJ has gotten used to (put up with) me constantly taking his picture. He was often the subject of my college photography projects, and as my photography obsession continued to grow, so did the photos of him...all of which he really doesn't care for.

So when our Adelaene came around, my focal point switched and he was glad to pass on the lens to bare. She too has got used to (put up with) a camera constantly in her face snapping picture after picture. During her first year, I took over 9,000 pictures and in fact by 18 months she says "cheese" when she sees me pick up a camera. I take so many pictures of her, that I often forget about taking pictures of my original focal point...the person who is so easy to capture in his raw, honest state and who I could never truly have enough pictures of.

Bag Preparation.

I spent last night sorting through my fabric collection and preparing to make some new bags. As I cut out the pieces to construct the bags, I placed all the fabric remains in a pile. By the end of the night, a colorful fabric mountain had been created.

Fabric for eight bags have been cut and await to be sewn....

Laeney says...

ThAnK yOu!

Laeney('s mommy) spent last night making thank you cards for all the thoughtful folks who thought of her on Easter! The Easter Bunny was quite busy showering this little girl with gifts this year!

Solace Interior Design

I was fortunate enough to work on a great project for a fantastic Twin Cities interior design company, Solace Design www.solace-design.com. I was asked to design their logo, business cards, and brochure about a year ago. Through feedback and collaboration with the designers vision, the look of solace was created in their marketing materials, transforming that image to their clients.

I just re-printed some of their tri-fold brochures last week, so I thought I would post some photos of the brochure.

'Irish' Green

Happy St. Patrick's Day from our Irish family to yours!

I haven't had much time to work on projects the past few days as we have been in Chicago! However, the green dyed Chicago River is definitely making me want to paint... or create something in an Irish shade of green!

Coloring with my girl.

by: Laeney-18 mo.

Watching her little hands creating art...
whether she is gracefully guiding the crayon across the paper with pure ease, or screaming because she can't get the marker cap off fast enough to use it, all instances make me believe that she is driven to create.

Which in turn inspires me to create more...

World's Greatest Papa

Happy Birthday Dad (known as "Papa" to the grandkids)!

Our birthday present to Papa....

This project was really simple and fun!

Here are the steps:
1. created the "world's greatest papa" logo on Illustrator, reversed the logo vertically when I was done with the design.
2. printed out the logo on T-shirt transfer printing paper (it will work with any inkjet printer).
3. warmed the spot on the T-shirt with an Iron
4.  cut out the oval logo design and laid it (logo side to t-shirt side) where I wanted it on the t-shirt.
5.  put a lot of pressure and heat on the logo for about a minute while slowly moving the iron back and forth across and around all the edges of the logo.
6. after 2 minutes of cooling, you peel the paper off of the logo and  Voila'..."World's Greatest Papa" shirt completed!

Happy day to you dad... love you.

Adelaene in all her glory.

It is only right to picture the inspiration behind the name, Baby Laene.
